| Falkirk Otter Amateur Swimming Club has been established since 1950. Over this period it has a good history of promoting successful Scottish swimmers from the Falkirk area. The club is affiliated to the Scottish Amateur Swimming Association (SASA) which is the national governing body for swimming in Scotland. SASA itself comprises four Districts - North, Midlands, East and West, Falkirk Otter is part of the West District and has the Club IdentifIer WFOX. Currently, the club has pool training times at the Grangemouth Sports Complex, Falkirk High School, Larbert High School, St Mungo High School and Grangemouth High School. Squad training is split between these pools in both morning and evenings. The club has an entry level from anywhere between new swimmers from Learn to Swim Programmes to competitive swimmers of all abilities. Training is delivered by experienced and qualified coaches at all levels. The level of training is structured by squads to allow each and every swimmer the best possible progression in stroke technique, stamina and competition. The Club swimmers compete at Club, West District, Scottish National and British levels. Falkirk Otter ASC is now structured as a stepping stone to an elite swimming squad, Falkirk Integrated Regional Swim Team, known as FIRST. The club is very keen to welcome new members and offer the opportunity to develop in a sport that is an excellent mix of competition, physical training and technical excellence. Trials are held on the first Monday of every month at Falkirk High School. If you have just learned to swim and want to learn competitive swimming then why not come along and find out more. You should be poolside, ready to swim by 6pm. |
