Meet the British Girls 11 Years 100m Backstroke Champion
Our very own Falkirk Otter, Charlotte McKenzie, became British Girls 11 Years 100m Backstroke Champion at the ASA British Age Group Championships in Sheffield. This was Charlottes first time swimming at this level and she qualified strongly from the morning heats as the 2nd fastest finalist.Charlotte remained calm and focussed throughout the day and in the final came strongly out of her turn to pull away and win gold.

This is a magnificent achievement for Charlotte and great reward for all of the hours of training that have to be put in to achieve at this level. Charlotte joined the club as a 6 year old and has moved through the squads where she was under the guidance of Falkirk Otter Head Coach , Diane Bunyan. She then progressed into the FIRST programme, a joint venture between Falkirk Council, Falkirk Otter ASC and Boness ASC where she is now coached by FIRST Head Coach Rob Lee. This shows what can be achieved with talent and dedication and we at Falkirk Otters are delighted at Charlotte's success. Well done Charlotte!
