| X So that we can confirm the total amount raised, please can all monies be collected and handed in by Monday 21 April. A fantastic turn out and effort by the Club Swimmers. The results can be seen here. All Squads were represented from Trialists, D1, D2, D3, Bronze, Silver, Gold and up to FIRST swimmers with impressive swimming from all, everyone who took part can be proud of themselves. The total distance achieved on the night was 69,550 metres or 44 miles! From Dover to Calais and back in one hour! |
| X Following some advice received can we ask all parents to wear shoe covers or remove shoes if poolside at school pools. In addition to this,we would appreciate if all drinks were in sports bottles, without paper labels and plastic "loose" lids. This is to ensure that no debris is left poolside which could affect the operation of the pools and to ensure health and safety of swimmers. We would appreciate your support in this matter. |
| Close X Congratulations to all of the swimmers who came away with a total of 24 medals and some tremendous PB's. A special mention to Adam Sams who won Gold in all of his events. In the boys 9 years 50 Freestyle three of our swimmers had a clean sweep of the top three medals, Ellis Lawson with gold, Marc Elrick with silver and Jack Gardiner with bronze. The full results can be found on the Latest Results page. |
| Close X There will be a FIRST development session on Friday 18th July at Graeme High School from 5.30 – 8 pm. There will be a 30 minute demo Session from Olympic Team member, Andrew Hunter. Watch him swim, train and ask questions - ALL Squads welcome. |
| Close X After the club July break, training will recommence on Monday 14th July at the Mariner Centre. Sunday sessions at Grangemouth and Monday sessions at the Mariner centre will continue during the school holidays. In addition to this Wednesday sessions will continue for swimmers who train at this session but it is changed to Graeme High 6~8pm from 16th July for the duration if the school holidays. |
| Close X Land training starts 1/9/08 for Gold, Silver and Club squad members. Bring shorts/t-shirt and indoor trainers. Be ready for 6.45pm at the Mariners Centre. |
| Close X Water/Juice is a must for poolside! It is noticeable that some swimmers are no bringing water or juice (still) for use at poolside. It is easy to become dehydrated, get headaches and feel sick if they fail to keep drinking. They may be in the water but the swimming they do removes water from their system. The rule of thumb is bring 3/4 litre for each hour of training. The intake can vary depending on size of individual. |
| Close X Xmas is scarily close so an idea may be to get club clothing as a present. Orders are being taken for Hoodie, Tracksuits, Polo shirts and the new style Poolside shirt. Please contact club desk on a Monday night or talk to Morag Risk who has a small stock of Hoodies and tracksuits. You can also order by email from the website here. |
Close X The Sunday night training times for D3 squad will change to 8:00pm-9:00pm going forward starting Sunday 12th October. This is to make best use of the pool space available during the Sunday Night sessions. |
Close X Please click here & here for Central Schools Championships to be held on Saturday 8th November at Bo'ness Recreation Centre, Bo'ness from 9.30 - 2pm. This meet is also the trial for Scottish Schools but that should not deter club swimmers from competing for there schools at the Central Schools Championships. This meet will be run as a gala with medals which is a change to the format in recent years where it was only a "time trial" Swimmers must contact their school to be entered , it is not done through the club. * The age group is age on 31st December 2009. * Please read the download information carefully. |
Close X SpeedBadge/Time Trials will be taking place on Monday 13th October at Mariners centre during normal squad training sessions. Help from any parents with recording the times will be very grateful, especially as we will have all the latest trialists there. Appreciate that some may be on holiday, but the times are required to update the records for upcoming galas. There will be another opportunity next month, so more time to improve! |
Close X Just to confirm the training arrangements for the next 2 weeks for FIRST Junior. There will be a change of venue for Friday's (10th) session. This will be:- Larbert (4.30 - 6.30pm) alongside FIRST (Friday 10th). Friday 17th and Saturday 18th will be cancelled. |
Close X Following the recent squad moves, changes were made to session times at Grangemouth. It has become apparent that there is lack of a lane for Club Squad on Sunday from 8-9pm so from next Sunday the Club Squad session will be from 7-8pm at Grangemouth. |
Close X We had a request rom the Mariner staff re. Changing at Mariner Centre. It would appear that swimmers are changing and leaving their clothes/valuables in the cubicles which means there are no changing facilities for the swimmers coming in to the next session or for the beginners group that are in the pool at the same time. Can I ask that all swimmers, once changed, either use the lockers or take their bags, with clothing inside, to poolside. I would appreciate your support in this matter. Irene Campbell President Falkirk Otter ASC |
Close X Can I take this opportunity to thank all of the swimmers who competed and to all the parent helpers who helped out at the Junior and Senior Leagues which we hosted this weekend. There were two great evenings of competition and a tremendous effort from everyone with the club finishing in 3rd place on both nights. There were many raffle prizes donated, in fact so many that we now have enough prizes for our Club Championships raffle as well! Once again, thanks for your continued support. Irene Campbell President Falkirk Otter ASC |
| Close X The accepted swims for the Central Swimming Championships to be held on Sunday 9th November can be found here (Session1) & here (Session2). Warmup times are 8.30am and 1.30pm. NOTE:- If there is a "Res" next to a name, this indicates reserve and a swim will only be possible if someone else withdraws on the day. If the "Scr" is next to a name, unfortunately this indicates the swim is not been accepted due to oversubscription in that event. |
| Close X It is that time of year again! The Club Championships take place on Sunday 21st December at Grangemouth Sports Complex. This is an event that we would encourage as many people as possible to compete in, including all of our new swimmers who can swim in the beginners races if they are in D1, D2 or D3 squads. Download the entry form here and this should be returned to myself or the club desk no later than Sunday 7th December with the appropriate money(£1 per event). Regards Irene Campbell President |
| Close X It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Tom Bole. Tom was Grandfather to 3 of our ex swimmers, Lauren, Linzi and James Gardner. A lot of the older swimmers and their parents will remember Tom, who with his wife Christine were avid supporters of their grandchildren at the many gala's they attended. Our thoughts and deepest sympathy go to his wife Christine and the family. |
| Close X The Mariners Centre pool will be closed for maintenance during the first 3 weeks of December, this means we will not be able to train there on 1st, 8th and 15th December. We are considering alternative training locations and will let you all know as soon as possible where the training will be on those dates. |
