Close X It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Tom Bole. Tom was Grandfather to 3 of our ex swimmers, Lauren, Linzi and James Gardner. A lot of the older swimmers and their parents will remember Tom, who with his wife Christine were avid supporters of their grandchildren at the many gala's they attended. Our thoughts and deepest sympathy go to his wife Christine and the family.
Close X We are considering starting a 200 Club to help raise club funds. This is a great fundraising method where everyone has the chance to win a prize. Anyone can take part, Swimmers, Coaches, Grannies Aunties friends and neighbours. Tickets cost £3 each - paid monthly by standing order. Any number of tickets can be purchased. All money collected each month is split 50/50 between prize money and club funds. Therefore the more people who join the bigger the prizes. The draw for 1st, 2nd and 3rd will be drawn at the monthly committee meetings and the winning cheques posted out. If you would be interested in joining the 200 Club, please download this form and return the slip to the club desk on a Monday night, or to any committee member.
Close X Hi Folks, Can I take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped the meet to be a huge success. Many people spent a lot of time and effort to ensure that a meet of this size could happen. Can I personally thank the people who ran the meet and electronics in very difficult circumstances as the equipment at the venue was not reliable. They did a sterling job! Can I also thank the ladies who did the officials meals and ran the cafe and the quality of their efforts was commented on very positively throughout the day! To the people who sold programmes and admissions at the door and dealt with the raffle and tombola all at the same time, thank you also. Thanks to the marshalls and medal presentation organisers and finally, a big thanks to all parents and sponsors who donated baking, tombola prizes and raffle prizes. A great team effort!! Irene

Can I thank everyone who made it a success, from coaches, officials, poolside helpers/marshals, the catering staff and the parents who supported the swimmers. | Close X Dear All Following a meeting with Grangemouth High School they are asking that all parties inform heir participants of the following: * Please only meet in the foyer – no more than 5mins before the session prior to 6pm. * Basically they don’t want anyone hanging around in the foyer for long periods of time due to the congested nature that occurs with several differing sports clubs utilising the school. * So our parents will have to keep the swimmers until 5mins prior to starting time to drop and leave, apologies for this if it causes inconvienience. Many thanks for your support with this Regards Garvie |
Close X This is an invite to attend the Central Schools Trials for the Scottish Schools swimming championship. These swims are not club gala entries but are done via your school. You will be swimming for your school not the club. Please download here and discuss your entry with the school. Regards Garvie

Close X Dear All, As you will now be aware, we are in our new bases at St. Mungos and Falkirk High Schools. These are fantastic facilities and most clubs across the country are envious of the quality of the facilities and the amount of exclusive pool time we have, including the actual times of the sessions. As the changing rooms in the schools are not as accessible to parents as the Mariner Centre's were, can I ask you to remind swimmers of their responsibilities to keep the changing rooms tidy and to be respectful to others in them. Could swimmers also be reminded to put their belongings in lockers or take them poolside as there has been a shortage of changing rooms at Falkirk High. I appreciate your support with this and hopefully this is the start of a new era where, with these fantastic new facilities, we can move the club on to the next level. We do not want to do anything to jeopardise this. Thanks for your continued support. Irene Campbell President Falkirk Otter ASC
Close X It is time again for the Junior League Finals. They are taking place on Saturday 5th December at Tollcross Swimming Pool, Glasgow – 2.00pm warm up. Those who have attended the Finals before will remember what an exciting event this is. We are currently sitting 4th in the league but there is also an award for the winning team on the day so it is all to swim for. As in the past few years, we are once again putting on a bus to this event. The bus will leave the Mariner Centre at 12.15pm and leaving Tollcross after the event at 5pm. The charge for the bus this year will be £3.00per head. Once again we would encourage as many of the swimmers as possible to travel on the team bus which helps to add to the team spirit and excitement of the day. There are potentially 32 swimmers on the bus and we have to have around 5 adults who have gone through the disclosure process with the club to supervise. This will leave around a dozen seats for accompanying adults/siblings. Which will be allocated on a first come first served basis. (Obviously if swimmers don’t require their seats there will be more available) If you wish your child to travel on the team bus please let me know as soon as possible , and if you wish to be considered for a seat on the bus, please also e-mail me. I would be grateful if you would let me know whether or not you are available to attend as soon as possible so that if necessary we can call upon alternative swimmers. The swimmers selected to attend this years finals are: Boys Girls 9 & U 9&U Chris Inglis Erin Sutherland Scott Lothian Emily MacFarlane Craig Yeardly Kirstin Lawrie Gareth Struthers Lucy Crosson Scott Lilburn Lucy Wall 11 & U 11 & U Daniel Wood Jenna Cooper Calum Mitchell Emily Howie Marc Elrick Orla Sutherland Drew Meikle Anya Reed Matthew Rossetter Maddy Thorpe Jack Gardner 12 & over 12 & over David Kerr Deborah Meikle David Struthers Tyler Sams Adam Sams Jenna Lafferty Ciaran Bradley Hannah Reid James MacFarlane Kirsten Bateman Ellis Lawson Carla Macaloney
Close X It was pointed out again tonight that swimmers continue to leave belongings/clothing in the cubicles instead of placing them in lockers or taking them poolside. This creates real problems at the change over of sessions when there is nowhere for swimmers to get changed and they have to wait for one of the few cubicles left to become available. Can I ask that NO belongings are left in cubicles and this will be monitored over the next few weeks. If everyone adheres to this then there will be a cubicle for everyone as and when they need it. I would appreciate your support with this as it is very frustrating for people waiting to get changed. Regards Irene Campbell President Falkirk Otter ASC
